The main ingredient is a voice all too rare these days bursting with character, personality and fierce skill. Kandace is a true artist, and those who have heard her have been impressed with her unique individuality, her fiery vocal technique, musicality, and songwriting abilities.
Kandace Kaprice Lindsey was born in Phoenix, Arizona of a Saxophone playing father and a mother who came from a lineage of singers. When Kandace was a child, her parents exposed her to the world of music and culture by taking frequent family trips to Europe, Latin America and the West Indies. Kandace was heavily influenced by the Latin American culture not only from her travels, but also due to the large Latin American community right in her hometown. As Kandace grew, so did her love for music and being that Phoenix had no African-American radio stations at the time, she became a quick and faithful fan of Rock-n-Roll. Instruments were also part of the curriculum in the Lindsey household with Piano being the first of many instruments she studied and played. On any given Sunday it would be normal to find Kandace, putting her musical skills to use with her father who would play the sax while she sang and played the instrument of her choice, to the records of greats like Aretha Franklin, Sly Stone, Tina Turner and Chaka Khan to name a few…
Kandace was already a session pro when she was asked to join the most respected Latin Pop Artist of our time, MARC ANTHONY. With him, Kandace, a Bilingual member, completed Four World Tours where she was privileged to sing with him his hit song “Ahora Quien”. Kandace was also first choice by his wife, Jennifer Lopez to sing for her in studio and live performances up until recent.
Kandace’s original recording of “Phoenix Will Fly” has been used as the theme song for the WNBA Championship team, the Phoenix Mercury for all their home games and has given two Explosive Half-Time performances for the NBA’S Phoenix Suns and the NBAEntertainment League Celebrity Game. Kandace’s soulful voice can currently be heard in retailers such as, Verizon Wireless, Coffee Bean Timberland and Steve Madden. Also playing “In-flight” on American, Virgin and US Airways Airlines; US Airways has even given Kandace her own “In Flight” Audio Channel under the “New and Now Artists” as well as being the Host on the channel, and featured in the magazine. She also performs regularly with her band at hot LA venues such as; House of Blues, Viper Room and Hotel Café. Kandace is currently putting all her experience and talent into writing songs and recording her new album, which fully reflects her unique talent and personality. At a time when music is defined by stylists, choreographers and cue cards….Kandace Lindsey is the REAL THING - a true singer, songwriter and performer.
