On Your Own Lyrics

Don't you know that your life you've been waiting
You've been holding inside, the voice of a child
Suddenly existence was a world of shadows
All the traces you knew, they disappeared
Something inside you told you to go
Follow your footsteps to the northern coastline
Were painting your canvas of colors will say...
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Just spread your wings and (dream of tomorrow)
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Over mountain tops to the summit of heaven
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Yea, yea, yes
Baby you can fly on your own
Mm yes, mm
As your journey leads you through the secret doorways

You uncover the pain buried so long
Somewhere inside you, (asking why)
Look for compassion, let the healing sun in
To guide you and (strengthen the courage you share)
(Oh, baby you can fly on your own)
Just spread your wings and (dream of tomorrow)
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Over mountain tops to the summit of heaven
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Yea, yea, yes
Baby you can fly on your own
Through the rainstorms that lie ahead
Your spirit always prevails
[Spirit always prevails]
All the beauty that resonates from you
Flying to the skies
[Skies]
Yes, oh no, no, no yes
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Just spread your wings and dream of tomorrow
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Over mountain tops to the summit of heaven
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Just close your eyes I know you will get there
(Baby you can fly on your own)
Yea, yea, yes
Baby you can fly on your own

Corey Mitchell Hart (born 31 May 1962, in Montreal, Canada) is a Canadian musician.

Hart became an instant hit with his rebellious looks, and his first album released in 1983 First Offense, featuring the hit song Sunglasses At Night. The album sold well in both Canada and the United States. The follow-up album was Boy in the Box in 1985, another very successful album featuring the song Never Surrender, which would be his highest-charting single. Hart would continue to record music, but his commercial success was significantly reduced after Box.

Today, Hart lives in the Bahamas with his wife, musician Julie Masse, and their four children.
