One Mans Burden Lyrics

Come on real nice not a word
Come on with arms open wide
It's okay when it's on TV
When it's like the pictures in a book
It's okay when it's on TV but it's you and meCaught up in history
Caught the look that I just can't see
Something is after me
Better run I really better run
Round and round, over and overDo my duty by her call return
I tried once and that was that
Now she knows I can't go back
Back to beginning over and overThen she heard me say
Been away and now I'm back
How's my credit? Said, "My credit's fine"
What will it be?One man's burden playing on my mind
One man's burden got me just in time
One man's burden playing on my mind
One man's burden got me just in time

Round and round, over and overShe says I did it just to please myself
They think I did it just to be myself
Less talk, what to talk about
Less think, what to think aboutOkay, well, it's not okay
Straighten up, you got to straighten up
Tell it straight, you got to tell it straight, come onOne man's burden playing on my mind
One man's burden got me just in time
One man's burden playing on my mind
One man's burden got me just in time
Round and round, over and over
Round and round, over and over
Round and round, over and over

Formed in Chelmsford when main protagonists Douglas McCarthy (vocals) and Bon Harris (drums, programming) were just 15, Nitzer Ebb cut a dynamic swathe through the electronic music and Balaeric beat scenes of the 1980s and 90s. They were electro-punks before the genre even existed, at a time when The Prodigy were not even a gleam in fellow Essex boy Liam Howlett's eye. Militaristic, intimidating yet always accessible, Nitzer Ebb enjoyed a string of ferocious club hits and released five critically acclaimed albums on Mute.
