One for Me Lyrics

One for the lover and one for the lost
Oh the price of sin
One for the sinner and one for the love
I'm inOne for tomorrow
And one for the life I've led
One for the sorrow
And one for the love in my bedAnd one for me
And one for me
And one for meOne for the giver and one for the take
And the guilty head
One for the woman and one for the snake
Who is deadOne for the mother
And one for the child to begin again
One for the meek
And one for the mild who give inAnd one for me
And one for me
And one for meThree steps forward
Two steps back

For one more I keep onOne for the liar and one for the trust
Ignorant bliss
One for the metal and one for the rust
To resistAnd one for me
And one for me
And one for me

The Pierces, sisters Allison and Catherine, are a pair of singer-songwriters based in New York City (by way of Birmingham, Alabama and Nashville).

Former ballerinas turned songstresses, they released their self-titled debut in 2000 with Epic. The album was met with lukewarm reception, but the girls were undeterred. After moving to New York, they released Light Of The Moon with Universal in 2005, with similar luck. After leaving the label and their manager to make some serious changes, they recorded their third album with producer Roger Greenawalt and after having opened a week's worth of shows for Albert Hammond Jr. [Catherine Pierce's fiancee] in November 2006, the girls were greeted with much more enthusiastic reception and excellent press.

Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge was released in April 2007.

The Pierces recently gained even more press when they were featured on the December 5th episode of the hit TV show, "Gossip Girl".

However, despite Catherine's high-profile celebrity romance with the Strokes guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr., the increased publicity didn't translate into sales.

According to the You'll Be Mine Songfacts, the siblings were on the verge of calling it a day when a friend of theirs, Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, offered to produce them. The result was The Pierces fourth album, You & I, their first release after signing to Polydor.
