Opportunity Lyrics

And so it goes another lonely day
You're savin' time, but you're miles away
Your fly was drownin' in some bitter tea
For seeing lost opportunity
Find your mirror, go and look inside
And see the talent you always hide
Don't go kid yourself, well not today
Satisfaction's not too far away
Hold on now your exit's here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long, it's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Your coffee's warm, but your milk is sour
Life is short, but you're here to flower
Dream yourself along another day
Never miss opportunity
Don't be scared of what you cannot see

Your only fear is possibility
Never wonder what the hell went wrong
Your second chance may never come along
Hold on now, your exit's here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long, it's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Hold on now your exit's here
It's waiting just for you
Don't pause too long, it's fading now
It's ending all too soon you'll see
Soon you'll see
Soon you'll see, soon you'll see
Soon you'll see, soon you'll see

Jason Robert Brown is an American musical theatre composer and lyricist from Ossining, New York. His career began with the unorthodox Songs for a New World, whose original off-Broadway production ran for 28 performances at the WPA Theater in New York City in 1995. The show sits on the boundary between musical and song cycle: it is a series of largely disjoint songs with (unlike a musical) no plot or characters that continue from song to song, but the songs and production themselves are highly theatrical and character-driven.
