Howard Phillips Lovecraft (20 August 1890 - 15 March 1937), a.k.a., H.P. Lovecraft (not to be confused with the psychedelic rock band which took its name from the author), is probably best known as a writer of weird fiction, though some believe his voluminous correspondence to be his greatest accomplishment. Many of his horror stories have been filmed and recorded as audio books, radio theatre, and movie adaptations.
