Over Time Lyrics

Overtime
That's what they all tell me
That's what they say to me
Overtime
Your blue eyes, your black eyelashes
The way you looked at life
In your funny way
I guess out of the blue
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
Your pale skin, your sexy crooked teeth
The trouble you'd get in
In your clumsy way
I guess one afternoon

You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime
I guess out of the blue
You won't cross my mind
And I'll get over you
Overtime

Born in 1915 (some sources say 1922), John was the youngest of ten children. His six older brothers were all taught to play the fiddle by his father. However, as he was too small, his father had a dulcimer made by John's brother Alexander (a carpenter), using a borrowed dulcimer as a pattern, and that became John's instrument. This instrument was in turn used as the pattern for many other instruments made for other local people.
