Paperboy Lyrics

You went from being him to being you
that night when you told me the truth
You hid your face inside your hands and cried
and told me that you once wanted to dieI went from being me to being her
the very moment you let out those words
the unknown the unspoken the unseen
I'm not your lover not your friend but something in between"What you are afraid of has already taken place
it will never hurt that much again
The sense of being marked of having fallen out of grace
these feelings are just echoes from back then"Paperboy
I'll never let you fallI know that she abandoned you back then
the girl who was your lover and your friend
Your secret does not scare me a bit you see
I once defeated that same sorrow inside me"What you are afraid of..."Paperboy
I'll never let you fall

Autoclave was a short-lived indie rock band based in Washington, D.C.. Formed in the summer of 1990, the group consisted of Christina Billotte (vocals and electric bass guitar), Mary Timony (electric guitar and vocals), Nikki Chapman (electric guitar and vocals), and Melissa Berkoff (drum set). The group became known for their intelligent, slightly off-kilter brand of rock, which featured the use of compound and changing meters, thus affiliating them with the "math rock" movement. The group broke up in May 1991, with Timony joining Helium and Billotte forming Slant 6.
