Playing For Time Lyrics

Try, you get a roll of heartache
Hear it and you're with my mind
I've played with fire, burned my fingers
Now I'm gonna take my time
You don't have to shout about it
Can't you see it obvious
Feel it's getting close to comfort
Why you make me search your bus
Take your time with what you're doin'
I can see the stage appear
Seized and held it on before her
Don't you understand my fear
Can't you see the time will tell us
How it's gonna always be
You can wrap me around your finger
And that ain't no mystery
Playing for time
That's all I can do

I'm playing for time
Before I fall in love with you
You can push me every which way
Hey, I got no place to pull
Yes, we'll do no rule devotions
When you fax the ace no more
Hold on, that is what the games go
And I want the nibble now
You can get to dream about it
I won't do it anyhow
Playing for time
That's all I can do
Playing for time
Before I fall in love
Playing for time
That's all I wanna do
Playing for time
Before I fall in love
Break it off
Oh, you don't have to shout about it
Can't you see it's obvious
Feel it's getting close for comfort
Why you make me search your bus
Travel down the road of heartache
Hear it in your with my mind
Played with fire, I burned my fingers
Now I'm gonna take my time
Playing for time
Before I fall in love with you
Playing for time
That's all I want to do
Playing for time
Before I fall
Playing for time
All I wanna do
Playing for time
Playing for time
Before I fall
Playing for time
Before I fall in love with you
Playing for time
[Incomprehensible]Playing for time

Uriah Heep is a British rock band, officially formed in 1969 in London, England, when record producer Gerry Bron invited keyboardist Ken Hensley (previously a member of The Gods and Toe Fat) to join Spice, members of whom included soon-to-become Heep stalwarts David Byron (vocals) and Mick Box (guitar). The band rapidly grew to become a seminal classic hard rock act of the 1970s and beyond. Their distinctive progressive/art rock/heavy metal fusion has always featured a massive keyboards sound, strong vocal harmonies and (in the early years) David Byron's operatic vocals.

Sometimes jokingly referred to as "The Beach Boys of heavy metal" for their melodic songs, and trademark multi-part harmony backing vocals, although their music draws on diverse influences including psychedelia, gothic sound, progressive rock, hard rock, early heavy metal, jazz, and even country on occasion.

Uriah Heep remains active, its lineup staying steady from 1986 to 2007, when drummer Lee Kerslake left for health reasons, and was replaced by Russell Gilbrook. The current lineup is: Mick Box (guitar, vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass, vocals), Phil Lanzon (keyboards, vocals), Bernie Shaw (lead vocals), and Russell Gilbrook (drums, vocals).
