Please Don't Turn Me On (feat. Lifford) Lyrics

Mmm, hmm , I mean it
(I mean it)
Don't say it, babe
(Don't say it, babe)
Hear me now now
Said, Ah, please don't turn me onNo, no listen, listen
Baby, won't you keep your distance
You're getting too close to me
I've been feeling my resistanceMelting away but she said
She wouldn't mind if I spent a little time
Said you were a friend of mine
She could trust me out of sightNow two bottles later on
And I think I stayed too long
I forget where I belong
Saying please don't turn me onIt's getting late I know I should be gone
Don't push me 'cause I'm not that strong
(No, no, no, no)
You can never make it right from wrong

(No, no, no, no)Please don't touch me there
Stop playing with my mind it's not fair
When you know I've got another who cares
And she's waiting for me somewhere out there, yeahDon't say my love is too familiar
'Cause she's everything to me
Don't say what she don't know won't kill her
I'm playing awayPut your hands where I can see
Baby, you know what I mean
'Cause you're looking good to me
And you know I feel the heatAs you button up your dress
And I wake up in your bed
With a head full of regrets
Saying please don't turn me onIt's getting late I know I should be gone
Don't push me 'cause I'm not that strong
(No, no, no, no)
You can never make it right from wrong
(No, no, no, no)Please don't touch me there
Stop playing with my mind it's not fair
When you know I've got another who cares
And she's waiting for me somewhere out there, yeahDon't want to lose the love I have
'Cause once it's gone can't take it back
You know that I want toDon't matter what I hear you say
I see the look that's in your eyes
(No, no)
Please don't turn me onIt's getting late I know I should be gone
(I should be gone)
Don't push me 'cause I'm not that strong
(I'm not)
(I'm not that strong, baby)
You can never make it right from wrong
(And oh)Please don't touch me there
Stop playing with my mind it's not fair
(Oh no)
When you know I've got another who cares
(She cares about me)And she's waiting for me
(And she loves me)
Somewhere out there
(And she needs me)Please don't turn me on
It's getting late I know I should be gone
(You know I should be gone)
Don't push me 'cause I'm not that strong
(I'm not that strong)
You can never make it right from wrong
(From wrong)Please don't touch me there
(Touch me there)
Stop playing with my mind it's not fair

There are 2 notable artists/bands with the name Artful Dodger:

1. Artful Dodger is a British R&B & UK garage band from the city of Southampton, who became famous through their 2Step hits and gave Craig David’s career a boost after he appeared on their #2 hit “Re-Rewind” in December 1999. The band’s name was apparently stolen from an unknown bedroom DJ (popular on pirate radio stations) Lee Haynes whose father’s name was Roger, which was inspired by the Artful Dodger, a character in the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist. The band originally consisted of Mark Hill and Pete Devereux, but Devereux left prior to the release of the single “TwentyFourSeven”, and Hill continued from then on to produce records under the Artful Dodger moniker by himself. The UK Garage act, comprising of Mark Hill and MC Alistair, now includes fellow Producer & DJ Dave Low.

2. Artful Dodger is an American power pop band, formed in Fairfax, Virginia in 1973. Songwriting duties were handled by band members guitarist Gary Herrewig and vocalist Billy Paliselli, along with guitarist and vocalist Gary Cox. Artful Dodger made three albums for Columbia Records: The 1975 self-titled debut, featuring the tracks “Wayside” and “Silver & Gold”, 1976’s “Honor Among Thieves”, and “Babes On Broadway” in 1977. The band released a fourth album, “Rave On” for Ariola Records in 1980. Despite extensive critical acclaim, none of the releases were commercial successes, which led to the band’s breakup in 1982. The original members reunited in 2005 for a Cleveland Agora anniversary concert. They were very popular in Cleveland, OH, where they still maintain a cult following. The band is still semi-active, playing a reunion show about once a year. The active Artful Dodger community on the internet can be found at http://www.artfuldodgersite.com/ Read more on Last.fm.
