Please Find My Baby Lyrics

My baby's gone and she won't be back no more
My baby's gone and she won't be back no more
Left me soon this mornin', like she did the night beforeI don't want no woman that stays drunk all the time
I don't want no woman that stays drunk all the time
She has a daddy mistreat her, and she don't pay me no mindI'm gonna call up Cherney, she's my good gal overthere
I'm gonna call up Cherney, she's my good gal overthere
Don't fill 'em full of pity, she didn't leave me for some other guyI believe, I believe my baby's gone
I believe, I believe my baby's gone
Left me early one morning, and didn't come home

Elmore James (Elmore Brooks, Richland, Mississippi, 27th January 1918 – Chicago, Illinois, 24th May 1963) was an American blues singer and guitarist. He was known as "The King of the Slide Guitar". James was born fifty miles north of Jackson (not to be confused with another Richland just south of Jackson). He began playing as a teen, under the names "Cleanhead" and "Joe Willie James", alongside musicians such as the first Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf, and Robert Johnson. During World War II James joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Guam.
