Politics of Humanity Lyrics

My blood runs cold when I think of the condition
Of human suffering and untold pain
The atrocities of war make my stomach turn
Falling tears, on the earth like burning acid rainWhy has it been so long since anyone's noticed?
It's been so long since anyone's cared
We watch and wait as the world keeps turning
Hoping our greed won't consume us allThe world today is like a closed in box
For those who have nothing but war torn streets
Shine a ray of hope a light into their lives
Hide deep inside your heart, may they find their reliefWhy has it been so long since anyone's noticed?
It's been so long since anyone's cared
We watch and wait as the world keeps turning
Hoping our greed won't consume us allHate can never cease by hate in this world
And this I know, so I'm gonna give you these words
And I hope that you'll listen to me
(Give you these words)
'Cuz hate never ceases by hate in this world
(In this world, no)Turn about face and face the faces of death

In a place where men die of disease and starvation
Psycho warfare, politicians tool
Won't let them pass the torch to the new generationWhy has it been so long since anyone's noticed?
It's been so long since anyone's cared
We watch and wait as the world keeps turning
Hoping our greed won't consume us allWhy has it been so long since anyone's noticed?
It's been so long since anyone's cared
We watch and wait as the world keeps turning
Hoping our greed won't consume us allWhy has it been so long?

The Suicide Machines were a band formed in 1991 in Detroit, Michigan under the original name Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines. The band's original lineup consisted of Jason Navarro on vocals, Dan Lukacinsky on guitar, Jason Brake on bass, and Stefan Rairigh on drums. This lineup lasted a year until Bill Jennings replaced Rairigh, but he was himself soon replaced by Derek Grant. They recorded the band's first demos The Essential Kevorkian and Green World in 1993 and 1994, both released through their own label Sluggo's Old Skool Records.
