Poor Man Lyrics

Bare, naked and bare is how I came
And I'll be leaving just the same
So why be afraid
YeahI'm a poor man, walking down the road
The straight and narrow is leading me to goldSpace, the second floor of outer space
Where all infinity awaits
I'm on my way
To a better placeI'm a poor man, walking down the road
The straight and narrow is leading me to gold
So I'm a rich man, walking down the road
The straight and narrow is leading me toYou gave to me, life everlasting
All I can see is life everlasting
You gave to me, life everlasting
All I can see is life everlasting, life everlastingI'm a poor man, walking down the road
The straight and narrow is leading me to goldYou gave to me, life everlasting
All I can see is life everlasting
You gave to me, life everlasting
All I can see is life everlasting, life, la la life

Well you gave me life
Oh, life everlasting, life everlasting

There are two artists with this name 1/ Not much info’s can be found for Johnny Robinson, who begun his career with a superb deep soul ballad “it’s all over” which seems to have been his first 45. He was born in Tuskagee, Alabama in 1939 and had the normal gospel training before joining the secular world with this disc in 1966/7. No real info on the location of the recording, but Benny Hall’s name on the writing credits would suggest the Big Apple, but what a magnificent display of dramatic emotion Robinson puts on.
