Popular Mechanics for Lovers Lyrics

I know he knocks you off your feet
Youre so bitter; you think hes sweet
Well hes wrong for you, I swearDid you forget to read the script?
There was never a role for him
It was always you and me, just mePopular mechanics for broken hearts could help me nowI know you never felt romance
And we always lack suspense
I can edit those parts outI never made you feel complete
I would fall beneath your feet
I would never bring you down, so downPopular mechanics for broken hearts could help me nowJust because he loves you too
He would never take a bullet for you
Dont believe a word he says
He would never cut his heart out for youI heard he wrote you a song
But so what
Some guy wrote 69
And one just aint enoughAnd theres so sense in trying
I know cuz Ive been
Trying all the time to find something that would make you mine
But all I ever find my love

Are clichs that dont rhymePopular mechanics for broken hearts could help me nowJust because he loves you too
He would never take a bullet for you
Dont believe a word he says
He would never cut his heart out for you

Fringe members of The Elephant 6 Recording Company, and the only band to officially release a full-length on the label, Beulah originally formed in San Francisco in 1996 when mail-room colleagues Miles Kurosky (main songwriter, lead vocals, guitar), and Bill Swan (trumpet, guitar, vocals) got together to make music. Together they recorded a 7", A Small Cattle Drive in a Snow Storm, released in 1997. The same year, Anne Mellinger joined the band and their debut LP, Handsome Western States was released on Elephant 6.
