Popularity Lyrics

They got the raddest hooks, they got the dopest looks
And when they're misunderstood it's even better
And they all agree the future ends with me
On their computer screens like they even
Matter to the words we sing or feel apart in our melodies
If all you have is yourself, you're never going to need anyone else
Popularity, do you think it's scary?
Everybody's talking with their own opinion
Popularity, it's a lot to carry
I'll fall asleep to you screaming in my brain
My brain, my brain
Float into a room, I feel the attitude
When I'm all alone it's even better
Try drops a line, we all fall right in time
And when you sing along, that's when we know you
Matter to the words we sing or feel apart in our melodies
If all we have is ourselves, you're never going to need anyone else
Popularity, do you think it's scary?

Everybody's talking with their own opinion
Popularity, it's a lot to carry
I'll fall asleep to you screaming in my brain
Popularity, do you think it's scary?
Everybody's talking with their own opinion
Popularity, it's a lot to carry
I wake up to you screaming
Popularity, I keep on keeping
But everyone's dying for their own opinion
Popularity, yeah, I think it's scary
I'll fall asleep to you screaming at my brain
My brain, my brain, my brain, my brain

Born Gregory Skyler Taylor in 1982 in Crown Heights, he grew up in Bedford-Stuyvesant. He was nicknamed Skyzoo by his parents after the Skyy disco song (his middle name is Skyler). He began rapping at the age of nine and went on to work with producers Jay Dee and 9th Wonder, releasing several mixtapes in the hope of securing a record deal. He was beaten by Jin on BET's 106 & Park freestyle contest, but went on to have tracks used as both the theme to ESPN's Whiplash TV and the soundtrack to a Guinness advert, and set up his own Custom Made Entertainment company.
