Porcupine Lyrics

Knock, knock, knock, my house is always open
Why shield myself with quills and feints and lies?
I can put on quite a show, but inside I'm broken
Porcupine, porcupine
Here it comes again
Here it comes again
Here it comes again
Please don't stop, you'll get past my defenses
My body armor's plated all the time
I got away with it once, but I soon became addicted
Porcupine, porcupine
At the edge of the world
Leave my things by the door
I surrender control
Diving into the fall
At the edge of the world
Leave my things by the door
I surrender control

Diving into the fall
Here it comes again
Here it comes again
Here it comes again
On my back, the weight of my offenses
You're a skunk and I'm a porcupine
Our weaponry's evolved from heightened senses
Porcupine, porcupine
At the edge of the world
Leave my things by the door
I surrender control
Diving into the fall
At the edge of the world
Leave my things by the door
I surrender control
Diving into the fall
Here it comes again
Here it comes again
Here it comes again

There are four bands called The Painkillers two of whose tracks are in the top tracks on this page - The Painkillers bring together the battered acoustic guitar of joe bludge and the massive rock n roll beats of James Baker. A fixture of the Perth scene, The Painkillers have played more gigs in that city than any other act since forming there in 2005. Their sound began with the common ground between Bludge’s love of proto-rock and Baker’s punk-tinted take on rock n roll, but quickly evolved into a genuine garage audacity that draws upon other influences at whim.
