Practice What You Preach (Alcatraz Revisit) Lyrics

You think your life's so grand
You don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground
You let your life just slip awayJust so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind goes blank
And then you lose control, then you lose control!
I never was the one, the one to say the things you say
Never seem to wonder what you sayYou think, you've got your life completely in control
You've got a lot to learn, the bridge you burned
It's gonna take its toll, pay the burnt bridge tollSo practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preachYou think your life's so grand
You don't believe a word you say
Your feet aren't on the ground
You let your life just slip awayJust so uncertain of your body and your soul
The promises you make, your mind goes blank

And then you lose control! Pay the burnt bridge toll
Then you lose control, pay the burnt bridge tollSo practice what you preach
So practice what you preach, preach
Practice what you preach
Practice what you preach, preach

Testament was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Originally formed as 'Legacy' in 1983 by founding members Eric Peterson (rhythm guitar), Derrick Ramirez (guitar) and Louie Clemente (drums), the line-up included vocalist Steve Souza and Greg Christian (bass). Ramirez was later replaced by wunderkind Alex Skolnick (lead guitar). Souza soon departed to join Exodus and suggested that the towering Chuck Billy take over as frontman(and was later run over by a bus).
