Prairie Rose Lyrics

------------ (written by Brian Ferry and Phil Manzanera and first released by Roxy Music) Texas Oh that's where I Belong Shine on It seems to me Lonesome star The big country With open skies And you For company Oh prairie rose How happy I should be Hey hey You're tantalizing me Hey hey You can take it from me Hey hey I'll be calling, you'll see Hey hey Oh what a state to be in In fancy rhyme Texas I will compose Or just plain prose A song of praise To you My prairie rose Though I'm not sure I can explain Your strange allure A crown of thorns A scented flower Oh prairie rose - Hey hey You can take it from me Hey hey I'll be calling, you'll see Hey hey I'd better leave right away Hey hey I can hear you calling me Hey hey Prairie rose (3 times) Hey hey I hear your voice And it keeps me From sleeping Prairie rose Hey hey Prairie rose (five times, fading out)

Big Country were a new wave/alternative rock band which formed in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1981. The band consisted of Stuart Adamson (vocals, guitar), Bruce Watson (guitar, vocals), Tony Butler (bass) and Mark Brzezicki (drums). Adamson was a former member of the Scottish punk band The Skids. The band was best known for using the device known as the "e-bow" to alter their guitars to sound like bagpipes.
