Pretend Lyrics

Did you see the sky tonight
It was covering a world so bright?
Hiding from a place inside you
Could never really see the light
But I'm having trouble sleeping
'Cause I know no one's awake
And I wish that I was dreaming
'Cause then I could see your face
And I wish I knew a place to hide
I wish I knew a place inside, where I could
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
That's so far away
But you're having trouble breathing
'Cause the world takes your breath away
And you're hiding from the demons
That attack you everyday

I wish that I could be there
To help take away the pain
But looking in the mirror
I could never see your face
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
That's so far away
But if I could see your face tonight
I would give away my worthless life
Crawling on my hands and knees
I beg you, I beg you, I beg you
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
That's so far away, yeah
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
Pretend you're the only one
That's so far away, yeah, yeah, yeah

Socialburn originated in the mid-'90s around high-school pals Neil Alday (vocals/guitar), Dusty Price (bass), and Brandon Bittner (drums). After forming on the fly in their tiny central Florida hometown, the group expanded into the scene in nearby Tallahassee. Listeners took a liking to their straightforward post-grunge growl, and Socialburn was soon a hit at local radio. By 2000, guitarist Chris Cobb had been added and a self-released CD had dropped. SB branched out with gigs in Jacksonville and Orlando, hoping to generate label interest in an area already buzzing with the success of Creed.
