Pretending Lyrics

Time, Time is what you said that you were needing
Away from me, But I
I guess that I was too far in the distance to even see
That things between us now, just haven’t quite been the same
Can we figure out which one of us is to blame
Cuz I cant go on
And Ohh
Why are we pretending
Why are we just wasting time
On a love that isn’t real
Because if you don’t want me, You should just tell me now
So I can save these tears
You, You said that you would never ever hurt me
But I guess that was a lie
Cuz its killing me to watch you stay when I,
I know this is goodbye
Its hard for me to think that maybe this is the end
You were my heart, baby you were my best friend

But we cant go on
And Ohh
Why are we pretending
Why are we just wasting time
On a love that isn’t real
Because if you don’t want me, You should just tell me now
So I can save these tears
We try to make it work but we just can’t make it last
We need to move on, stop living in the past
And I don’t even know how our love got so strange
It’s not the same
And Ohh
Why are we pretending
Why are we just wasting time
On a love that isn’t real
Because if you don’t want me, You should just tell me now
So I can save these tears
Let me save these tears

Andy Russell (September 16, 1919 - April 16, 1992) Born Andres Rabajos in Los Angeles to Mexican immigrant parents, Andy Russell (who took his professional name from one of his idols, Russ Columbo,) acheived his greatest U.S. popularity in the 1940s. As with Columbo and Bing Crosby before him, he started out singing with Gus Arnheim's orchestra at the Cocoanut Grove, but, at only 13, he was so young that Arnheim had to become his legal guardian to permit him to travel out of state.
