Queen of the New Year Lyrics

You're so young and you know so much
Heaven help us all from the tales you tell
You're so old and innocent as Hell
How I love your questions, you queen of the new yearOh, you're so young and you know so much
My mind's not made up about the way forward
And now my heart, you know these things
My name for you is queen of the new yearAll the stars in Heaven go dim
To the lights on me and him
All the stars in Heaven are proud
As the lights on us go outNow I'm telling you this, in a difficult year
Your mother, she gave me problems
What am I gonna do with your honest heart?
The champion of love, the queen of the new yearAll the stars in Heaven go dim
To the lights on me and him
All the stars in Heaven are proud
As the lights on us go outAll the stars in Heaven go dim
To the lights on me and him
All the stars in Heaven are proud

As the lights on us go outAll the stars in Heaven go dim
All the stars in Heaven go dim
All the stars in Heaven go dim
All the stars in Heaven go dimTo the champion of love, the queen of the new year
To the champion of love, the queen of the new year
To the champion of love, the queen of the new year

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
