Reach for the Sky Lyrics

Reach for the sky, babe
Make it to heaven
Before your dreams grow oldReach for the sky, babe
It's over your shoulder
Reach for your dawn's own lightI don't believe in miracles
But I do believe in fate
And I do believe
It's calling out your nameDon't depend on lucky breaks
If luck is on your side
It's just the joker
Playing in your gameThen you'll see the chances coming
But you look the other way
At the risk of sounding helpless, girl
That's where we went wrongReach for the sky, babe
Make it to heaven
Before your dreams grow old
Grow oldDon't tell me you're not satisfied
Don't tell me you can't wait to find

A reason for the rocks upon your roadEducate your appetite
With a capital A
Learn to let me help you share the loadBut you keep me at your distance
As the tears begin to show
So I really hope you make it, girl
Before I goReach for the sky, babe
Make it to heaven
Before your dreams grow oldNo one's so blind, girl
It's over your shoulder
Reach for your dawn's own lightIt's all up to you
It's all up to you
It's all up to youReach for the sky
Make it to heaven
Before your dreams grow oldIt's all up to you
BabyReach for the sky

Vocalist Nick Van Eede founded the group along with Canadian guitarist Kevin Scott MacMichael in 1985, and made demos that led to a recording contract, before bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle joined in 1986. Their first album, Broadcast, released in 1986, was the first U.S. number one album for Richard Branson's Virgin Records. It included "(I Just) Died in Your Arms", their most popular single, which reached number one in the U.S.
