Riches Lyrics

It's good to know how big a life can be
Especially when it falls away so easily
And how hard it is to let you take your leave
Also I wish you all the things that you believe inLike riches, now that they're different
And work with your burden lifted
Like riches, now that they're different
And work with your burden liftedI wish all those things if you would leave
Bright clothes for winter
Bright clothes for winterWhen you go on your journey don't say goodbye
Don't need clothes to wear, money to buy
Don't take a bed to sleep in or sleeves to cry on
And don't go gently into that good nightAnd take riches now that they're different
And work your burden lifted
Take riches now that they're different
And work with your burden liftedI wish all those things if you would leave
Bright clothes for winter
Bright clothes for winterYou found a great big kingdom
And you gave it all away

And how I want live there
And how I hope you'll stayAnd take riches now that they're different
And work with your burden lifted
Take riches now that they're different
And work with your burden liftedI wish all those things if you would leave
Bright clothes for winter
Bright clothes for winter
Bright clothes for winter

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
