Rise Again Lyrics

I will rise again
I will rise again
I've been taught, in the name of life
What a thrill, like a steely knife
It hit my face, see it left without a trace
Life's been short, in the name of love
Paid my bills just to rise above secret hills
There's been awful pain all through this race
I made it to a peaceful place, I know
I will make it again
To see my consciousness is bright and clear
Standing tall and have no fear at all
To see me standing tall and have no fear at all
I will rise again
I will rise again
Take away my pride, I will rise again
Though it seems so hard, I know
You will see me again

Seasons come and go, I will rise again
Deep inside I know
I'll be back again
Take away my pride, I will rise again
Though it seems so hard, I know
You will see me again
Seasons come and go, I will rise again
Deep inside I know
I'll be back again
I will rise again
Take away my pride, I will rise again
Though it seems so hard, I know
You will see me again
Seasons come and go, I will rise again
Deep inside I know
I'll be back again

Cristy Lane is best remembered for her 1979 single "One Day at a Time," a gospel song that blended Protestant fervor with the language of self-help in a seamless, heartfelt whole. She is also noteworthy as one of the builders of the Branson, MO, live-entertainment phenomenon. Lane was born Eleanor Johnston to a family of 12 in Peoria, IL. Married before she was 20, she had three children by 1964. Her husband, Lee Stoller, a salesman, encouraged her to sing professionally, but she was painfully shy.
