River of No Return Lyrics

Well, you know you're gonna have to steal it
If you want your cake and eat it, too
There is no one left believin'
Than the guy who's been deceivin' youYou got to pay the piper
In the end you will be so much wiser
Got to use your best endeavor
When you're kissin' to be clever'Cause it's a hard, hard lesson
That you're gonna learn, on the river of no return
You been burnin' all your bridges
Like a child with forty wishes, on the river of no returnWell, you got your finger
On the trigger
It would help, if you was a bigger
Now, it's not easy, hmm I know, it's not easy'Cause it's a hard, hard lesson
That you're gonna learn, on the river of no return
You been burnin' all your bridges
Like a child with forty wishes, on the river of no return
Yea yeaYes, you've done your share of cheatin'
Now you're gonna have to take a beatin'

You been acting like a sucker
Now, you're gonna have to suffer, yea'Cause it's a hard, hard lesson
That you're gonna learn, on the river of no return
You been burnin' all your bridges
Like a child with forty wishes, on the river of no returnSay, say, say
'Cause it's a hard, hard lesson
That you're gonna learn, on the river of no return
It's a one way to go, it's on and on you go
On the river of no returnSay it again
'Cause it's a hard, hard lesson
That you're gonna learn, on the river of no return
Got swept out in the tide
With no one on your side, on the river of no return

The Jeff Healey Band was a Canadian blues-rock band led by guitarist and vocalist Jeff Healey (born Norman Jeffrey Healey on March 25, 1966 in Toronto, Canada; died March 2, 2008). Formed in 1986 in Toronto, ON, the original lineup consisted of Jeff Healey, Joe Rockman on bass, and Tom Stephen on drums.

The group played around small Toronto-area clubs for a few years before eventually signing with BMG Canada and Arista Records for the rest of the world, and releasing their debut album See The Light in 1988, which featured the top charting hits "Angel Eyes" and "See The Light".

The band played and recorded blues/blues rock-infused music along with many original-flavored covers. The band officially released five studio albums and one live recording including the sophomore Hell To Pay (1990), Feel This (1992), Cover To Cover (1995), Get Me Some (2000), and Live At Montreux 1999 (2005). There have also been some recent unofficial compilation releases without the consent of the artists.

The band performed a cameo role in the Patrick Swayze movie "Roadhouse" and they are featured in its official soundtrack.

The group split up in the late 2000, with Healey continuing performing as a solo artist and later as Jeff Healey & The Jazz Wizards playing trumpet. Healey died on March 2, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
