Riverside Drive Lyrics

Oh it happens every now and then
Along the banks of the Potamus
When me and the boys gather some toys
And take care of a little bitSometimes it's crazy, sometimes it's hazy
Sometimes it takes all night
In need of perfection bring your protection
'Cause baby it'll feel so rightI don't remember the town
The town with the big bass soundWe're goin' down to Riverside Drive
We're goin' down to Riverside DriveShe's faster than the speed of sound
About the fastest thing I've known
She's been tryin' to make up her mind
Just who to let her take her homeWell sometimes I rode in, sometimes I'm flown in
Sometimes I feel I just don't know
In need of perfection, bring your protection
'Cause you never know what's in storeI don't remember the town
The town with the big bass soundWe're goin' down to Riverside Drive
We're goin' down to Riverside Drive
Hit the riverI tell ya what I'm gonna do

When the moon stares me in the eye
You're actin' real good like you know you should
And I'll give you a piece of pieWell sometimes I feel it, sometimes I steal it
Sometimes I can get it on
In need of perfection bring your protection
'Cause you're bringin' me downI don't remember the town
The town with the big bass soundWe're goin' down to Riverside Drive
We're goin' down to Riverside Drive
We're goin' down to Riverside Drive
We're goin' down to Riverside DriveTo Riverside Drive, to Riverside Drive
To Riverside Drive, to Riverside Drive

Pepper Adams (Born Pepper Park Adams III on October 8, 1930 in Highland Park, Michigan - Died on September 10, 1986 in Brooklyn, New York) was one of hard bop's most significant baritone saxophonists. His dark, hearty tone on the horn and driving rhythmic sense provided the antithesis to the lighter, floating (and consequently more popular) styles of Gerry Mulligan. His family moved to Rochester, New York when he was young and in that city he began his musical efforts.
