Route 66 Lyrics

Well, if you ever plan to motor west
Travel my way, take the highway, that's the best
Get your kicks on Route 66Well it winds from Chicago to L. A.
More than two thousand miles all the way
Get your kicks on Route 66Well it goes to St. Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks oh, so pretty
You'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San BernardinoYou get hip to this kind of trip
I'm gonna take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66Well it goes to St. Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks oh, so pretty
YouYou'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San BernardinoYou get hip to this kind of trip
I'm gonna take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66Kingman, Barstow, San BernardinoIf you get hip to this kind of trip
I'm gonna take that California trip

Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66
...

He brought his own orchestra together in 1944 for the BBC and his career took off, including many hit records, the biggest success being "Swinging Shepherd Blues". During the 1950s his orchestra frequently performed at the Hammersmith Palais de Dance and from 1956 Heath and his orchestra were regular visitors to the United States.
