Rudy's Back Lyrics

Rude boys! Are coming out tonight!
They got the rhythm, they're feeling alright
Hey boys! Where have you been going?
I've got to water a little herb, that I've been growing.
Rude boys! They causing trouble downtown!
And the police don't like 'em, hanging around.
Hey now! I wanna play my horn!
Rocksteady! That's why I was born.
Some say that rudies have a whole while to wait, but that's just jack talk, I know they're here to stay!
Why do we do it when we aim for the door, it's cause we're ska for life mon!
Okay boys, lets go!
Rude boy! Carly in hand, he likes to party, likes to skank with the band.
Rude girl! She's on the scene, she's hanging out by the record machine.
Skinheads! They like to stop they boots, they dig that rhythm cause that rhythm got roots.
DJ! Play it one more time, I don't care if the lyrics don't rhyme.
Some say that rudies have a whole while to wait, but that's just jack talk, I know they're here to stay!
Why do we do it when we aim for the door, it's cause we're ska for life mon!
Okay boys, lets go

(pick it up x5)
Oh dig that rhythm.
Our man got the beat.
Can't keep from dancing.
I got to move my feet.
Rocksteady!
If you got the riddim, you will never, you will never grow old! AHHHHHHH!
Rude boys! Yeah he's misunderstood, the coolest guy in his neighborhood.
Hey boys! Where have you been going?
I've got to water a little herb, that I've been growing.
Rude boys! They causing trouble downtown!
And the police don't like 'em, hanging around.
Hey now! I wanna play my horn!
Rocksteady! That's why I was born.
(pick it up x3)
(pick it up x3)
It doesn't matter if you black
it doesn't matter if you white
Cause we are the Scofflaws, we're doing alright and were going rocksteady tonight!

The Scofflaws are a New York-based third wave ska band that debuted in the early 90s. Known for their rambunctious live shows, technically proficient horn solos and tight arrangements, The Scofflaws were one of the top 3rd wave ska acts of the early 90's and one of the most beloved bands on the now-defunct Moon Ska label. The Scofflaws early sound was characterized by strong R&B and jazz influences as well as eclectic covers of such songs as Henry Mancini's "A Shot in the Dark", Danny Elfman's theme from "Pee Wee's Big Adventure"...
