Same Dream Lyrics

I look into the mirror and I say
Who is this man who hurt you so much?
Who left him in charge?
Of all of my hopes and dreams and
Why is it that I could never see him there
Until you showed "Him" to me by leaving?
'Cuz there is a secret place where only you have been
Where I keep the only things I want you to see
'Cuz everything is changing, I'm a different man
Same dream
Same dream
Yeah, yeah
If you can't understand that I have changed
Or that people can change
Well, I respect that but I've been misunderstood
And baby, the fact will still remain
I've got something to prove to myself
And nobody else, my true self

'Cuz if someone were to ask me on that last day of my life
Just who I truly loved, just who it was and why
Well, I would be an old man, a different man I know
With the same dream
Hope is contagious
Hope is sacred
And I've got this plan you see
And with or without you
With or without anybody
I will find my peace
And yes I know what love is
I know what love is
'Cuz there is a secret place where only you have been
Where I keep the only things I want you to see
'Cuz everything is changing
Everyday, everything is changing, I'm a different man
Same dream
Same dream
Yeah, yeah
