Same Old Thing Lyrics

Same old thing, baby where ya been
It's that same old thing, woman where ya been
Been down, today's the day
I've been sitting here all alone, waiting by my telephone
It's the same old thing, woman where ya been
Same old thing, baby where ya beenI've been up all night, waiting in vain
Without you baby, you know it just ain't the same
If I ever catch you running around
Ain't no need to plead
Send your soul on up to heaven
The rest belongs to me
Same old thing, baby where ya been
It's the same old thing, woman where ya beensoloMy patience has run out, my love gone bad
I started to leave you woman
But you're the best thing I've ever hadIt's the same old thing, baby where ya been
Same old thing, woman where ya beenI've been up all night, waiting in vain
Without you baby, oh it just ain't the same
If I ever catch you running around

Ain't no need to plead
Send your soul on up to heaven
The rest belongs to meSame old thing, baby where ya been
It's the same old thing, woman where ya been

Coco Montoya (b. 1951 in Santa Monica, CA) is a blues guitarist and former member of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. Montoya's career began in the mid-70's when Albert Collins asked him to join his band as drummer. Collins took Montoya under his wing and taught him his "icy hot" guitar style. The two remained friends even after Montoya left Collins' band. In the early 80's John Mayall heard Montoya playing guitar in a Los Angles bar. Soon after Mayall asked Montoya to join the newly reformed Bluesbreakers. He remained a member of the band for 10 years.
