Sell Your Soul Lyrics

I got a solid silver reason
I got something you'll never buy
I've spent my life playing rock 'n' roll
I wouldn't tell a lieWell, if you want to taste the freedom
Just let the music take a hold
I'm possessed by rock 'n' roll
There's a thunder, see it and wonder
How to play the game, it's easyYou know, we're gonna live forever
You know we're never gonna die
You see it's written across the sky tonight
I'm gonna tell you whyBecause they've covered up the exits
We got a spotlight just for you
I'm possessed by rock 'n' roll
Hear me calling, stars are falling
Taking me awayStand up, shout it out
I'm possessed by rock 'n' roll
Stand up, shout it out
Sell your soulStand up, shout it out

Let the music take a hold
Stand up, shout it out
Rock 'n' rollCan't you feel we're gettin' stronger
Gettin' stronger every day
There ain't nothing gonna stop us
Oh, there ain't no wayIt's like a rolling ball of thunder
You know, it's never gonna stop
You know, it's gonna drag you under
See me soaring, thunders roaring
Things afraid againStand up, shout it out
I'm possessed by rock 'n' roll
Stand up, shout it out
Sell your soulStand up, shout it out
Let the music take a hold
Stand up, shout it out
Rock 'n' rollI got a solid silver reason
I got something you'll never buy
I've spent my life with rock 'n' roll
Oh no, would I lie?But if you want to taste the freedom
Just let the music take a hold
I'm possessed by rock 'n' roll
There's a thunder, see it and wonder
How to play the game, it's easyIt's gonna drag you under
Gonna take your heart and soul
You gotta stand up
You gotta shout, shout, shout, shout, shout it out
[Incomprehensible]

Uriah Heep is a British rock band, officially formed in 1969 in London, England, when record producer Gerry Bron invited keyboardist Ken Hensley (previously a member of The Gods and Toe Fat) to join Spice, members of whom included soon-to-become Heep stalwarts David Byron (vocals) and Mick Box (guitar). The band rapidly grew to become a seminal classic hard rock act of the 1970s and beyond. Their distinctive progressive/art rock/heavy metal fusion has always featured a massive keyboards sound, strong vocal harmonies and (in the early years) David Byron's operatic vocals.

Sometimes jokingly referred to as "The Beach Boys of heavy metal" for their melodic songs, and trademark multi-part harmony backing vocals, although their music draws on diverse influences including psychedelia, gothic sound, progressive rock, hard rock, early heavy metal, jazz, and even country on occasion.

Uriah Heep remains active, its lineup staying steady from 1986 to 2007, when drummer Lee Kerslake left for health reasons, and was replaced by Russell Gilbrook. The current lineup is: Mick Box (guitar, vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass, vocals), Phil Lanzon (keyboards, vocals), Bernie Shaw (lead vocals), and Russell Gilbrook (drums, vocals).
