She Lyrics

I paid all my dues and she wanted to know
That I'd never leave her now I'm ready to go
As strange as it seems, she's endless to me
She's just like paperwork but harder to read
Patience's my enemy, loving's my friend
It's harder to leave with my heart on my sleeve
Than to stay and just pretend
Oh, she knows me so well
Oh, she knows me like I know myself
I made all my plans and as she has made hers
She kept me in mind but I wasn't sure
I searched every room for a way to escape
But every time I try to leave she keeps holding on to me for delight
And blocking my way
Patience's my enemy, loving's my friend
It's harder to leave with my heart on my sleeve
Than to stay and just pretend
Oh, she knows me so well

Oh, she knows me like I know myself
And like the back of her hand she already understands everything
"Won't you stay?", she says
And she already knows how it goes
And where she stands I'll stay, anyway
'Cause she knows me so well
Oh, she knows me like I know myself
Oh, she knows me so well
Oh, she knows me like I know myself
I know myself
Oh, she knows me like I know myself
I know myself, I know myself
I know myself

Ryan, Mark, Kaz, and Scotty are a punk band. They play songs about drinking too much, working shitty jobs, attempting to recapture their lost youths, staying up all night and sleeping all day. Ryan cut his teeth playing with Florida heroes Discount for a long time. He’s old now. He eventually decided to return to his former ethic, starting Monikers after years (and one terrible electronic record) living abroad in Scotland.

Mark and Kaz have been around the gloryhole of the punk scene over the last decade, so they have lots of funny stories. Scotty (aka Scotty College) is probably the most famous punk in the whole of Florida. He can drink a whole lot and can yell ‘Skinhead!’ loud as hell.

They are big fans of hanging out and proud purveyors of Natural Ice. With ‘Wake Up’ now in the hands of fine people everywhere, Monikers are prepared to cement their place in history as one of many fish swimming in the sea of pop-punk bands with gritty vocals and cynical lyrics.

‘Wake Up’ is the product of year of slacking off, years of avoiding practice and playing far too drunk for their own good. Somehow, Monikers managed to get the songs down, book tours, and even answer their emails (sometimes). Through minimal effort of their own, they have become a real band (they even own a van now), ready to bring their brand of gruff pop-punk to the masses. With the air of Florida media powerhouse Kiss of Death Records, ‘Wake Up’ should be a welcome addition to the present state of music.

Monikers will openly admit to ripping off West Coast luminaries like Crimpshrine and Jawbreaker, so chances are that if you love those bands as much as most of us do, you’ll probably dig ‘Wake Up’. And if not, they’re old enough to not really give a shit.
