Silence Is Broken Lyrics

Never again you say the words
And let the sunshine in again
You can close your eyes
And know it's safe inside to sing you lullabyNow I lay me down, you broke the chains
And you won't be silent anymore
Oh, no, now you're gonna shout about it
No, no more, yeah, yeah, this is the endThe silence is broken now
It's over now, the words have been spoken
And with every word you say, you blow away
The tears of another timeFace to face anyone can see you're not
The child you were beforeNow, I lay you down, you take your place
No one can take away your heart
Oh, no, there can be no doubt about it
No, no more, yeah, yeah, this is the endThe silence is broken now
It's over now, the truth has been spoken
And with every word you say
You blow away, yeahNever again you say the words
And let the sunshine in again

You can change the world
But no one can take away your heartThe silence is broken now
It's over now, the words have been spoken
And with every word you say, you blow away
The tears of another timeThe silence is broken now
It's over now, the truth has been spoken
And with every word you say, you blow away
The scene of another crime

Damn Yankees was an American hard rock supergroup, well known for the single High Enough, formed in 1985, consisting of Jack Blades (Night Ranger), Tommy Shaw (Styx), Ted Nugent and drummer Michael Cartellone. Presumably inspired by the musical of the same name, Nugent once also explained that he coined the name because whenever someone asked him how he and Tommy Shaw would sound playing together, he would always reply by saying they would sound like "a bunch of damn Yankees.
