Silvia Lyrics

Reached the city steps tonight
Following the power lines
Met a man bar side
With eclipses for eyesAnd you tell yourself you won't let them touch
Did I say too much? Did I say enough?
I don't know SilviaCircle round the room still
Have fun breaking my will
You know I can't have you here
With someone else on your skinAnd it's all my fault for not getting off
So you made it start, can you make it stop?
You don't know SilviaReached the city steps tonight
Following the power lines
And your skin is so white
Underneath the black nightAnd your voice cries out for the coup de grace
When the lights go out will there be a trace?
That I loved Silvia, that I loved Silvia

Edmundo Arias is the son of Joaquin Arias, composer of one of Colombia's most popular bambucos, "Los Sauces (The Willows)." When he was ten years old and living in Tulua Valley in southwestern Colombia, he and his brother Ricuarte started Los Hermanitos Arias, a group that played music with a Cuban influence. Since the most important recording studios in Colombia were to be found in Medellin, the capital city, Arias went there with his brother and started the Sonora Antillana, which they later renamed the Edmundo Arias Orchestra.
