Since I Met You Lyrics

Was at the end of my rope, had nowhere to go
Was at the end of my rope, I had nothing to show
Until the day I turned to You, was at the end of myWhat?
You talking to me?
You talking to me?
You call me crazy
You call me crazy
You call me crazy
You call me crazyYou call me crazy, man, you make my day
My state of residence was disarray
At every party and as far as anybody knew
Everything was coolBut the truth was bottled up inside of me
I was as lonely as a man could be
And my 200 friends couldn't fill the void in my soul
It was a giant holeNothing made any sense
I thought there would never be an end
Then love came knocking at my doorSince I met You, I've been alright
You turn all my darkness into light

Since I met You, I've been okay, I've been alright
(Ya know I've been alright)Since I met You, I've been okay
You're rolling my winter into may
And since I met You, I've been alright
I've been okay
(Since I met you)
I've been okay
(Since I met you)You got me feeling like a million bucks
Some people write it off as Irish luck
But I know better 'cause my rabbit's foot
Never did me a bit of goodThe truth hit me like a sock in the eye
A revelation that I can't deny
Your love has overtaken every little part of me
You were what I neededI'm carried away
Never seen the sunshine like today
You made something of my lifeSince I met You, I've been alright
You turn all my darkness into light
Since I met You I've been okay, I've been alright
(Ya know I've been alright)Since I met You, I've been okay
You're rolling my winter into may
And since I met You I've been alright
I've been okay
(Since I met you)
I've been okay
(Since I met you)Was at the end of my rope, I had nowhere to go, go
Was at the end of my rope, I had nothing to show
Until the day that I turned to YouWas at the end of my rope, I had nowhere to go, go, go
Was at the end of my rope, I had nothing to show
Until the day that I turned to You
Was at the end of my ropeYeah, that's right, I'm talkin' to you
Sick and tired
Sick and tired
Sick and tired
Sick and tiredSick and tired of the same ol' fluff
You came along and You shook me up
You got me tripping on a vision of eternity
I can see it clearlySince I met You, I've been alright
You turn all my darkness into light
Since I met You, I've been okay, I've been alright
(Ya know, I've been alright)Since I met You, I've been okay
You're rolling my winter into may
And since I met You, I've been alright
I've been okay
(Since I met you)
I've been okay
(Since I met you)Was at the end of my rope
(With nowhere to go)
I had nowhere to go, go
(Nowhere to go)Was at the end of my rope
(With nothing to show)
Had nowhere to go, go, go
(I had nowhere to go)Was at the end of my rope
(I had nowhere to go, come on
(I had nowhere to go, come on)Was at the end of my rope
(Nowhere to go, come on)
(I had nowhere to go)
Was at the end, then I met you
(Nowhere to go)

dc Talk is made up of Toby McKeehan (TobyMac), Michael Tait, and Kevin Max.

The three met while they were young men at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. They formed the band dc Talk (a reference to Washington D.C., but later marketed as 'decent Christian talk' by their label) and, as of the year 2000, spent twelve solid years together, performing all over the world, recording 6 albums, and earning many awards, including 4 Grammy awards.

Their music, aimed at a younger audience, combined hip-hop, rap, and R&B sensibilities and filled a gap in 1980s Christian Music and gave them a unique niche. Their first three albums, dc Talk, Nu Thang, and Free At Last started from their rap/hip-hop roots but increasingly included melodic vocal rock influences. Their 1995 studio album, Jesus Freak, continued this musical evolution by eshewing almost all rap elements and adopting a harder modern rock/grunge sound on many songs, especially the title track. Their most recent studio album, Supernatural, draws on their previous efforts while moving towards mainstream pop stylings.

Their signature sound in all albums is their use of the three members' different vocal skills separately and together. They are often lauded for their lyrical sophistication, addressing many themes in Christian theology, faith, and practice.

After more than ten years together as a group, they are taking a break in recording together to pursue their own activities outside of the band, and launch solo careers in recording music. Michael Tait formed his own band, Tait, and has most recently served as the frontman for Newsboys. Toby McKeehan has released music under the name TobyMac, and has been the most sucessful of the three. Kevin Max has released two solo albums of his own.
