Skeleton Lyrics

What did you just say?
No, I heard you right the first time
I heard you right the first time
Are you trying to hurt me?
You know you're supposed to lie
When the truth is so unkindIt's like I'm looking right through youThere's nothing in your skeleton
Your heart is gone
You're acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matter
The way it works
The rush of blood
You gave it all up
Acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matterI'm not gonna fight you
'Cause I don't wanna win
And live through this again
I'm not gonna love you
I don't know how to forgive

I don't know how to forgetIt's like I'm looking right through youThere's nothing in your skeleton
Your heart is gone
You're acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matter
The way it works
The rush of blood
You gave it all up
Acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matterWhere will you go?
Who will you be?
Who will you hurt? (doesn't even matter)
Up in the clouds
You're gonna fall
Down in the dirtTake what you want
Take it from me
Give it to her (doesn't even matter)
It's nothing of us
Nothing at all
It's not gonna workI'm not gonna love youThere's nothing in your skeleton
Your heart is gone
You're acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matter
The way it works
The rush of blood
You gave it all up
Acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matterThere's nothing in your skeleton
Your heart is gone
You're acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matter
The way it works
The rush of blood
You gave it all up
Acting like it doesn't even matter
Like I don't even matter

Gabrielle Aplin is the whipsmart teenage sensation with spirit in her voice and ability to bottle melodic lightning who, at 14, wrote her first song, Ghosts. At 17, she made it the title track of her first EP. At the same age, she set up her own label, Never Fade Records. Soon she had landed herself a booking agent and was plotting her own tours round the UK. By 18 she had released two further EPs and was running a profit making DIY artist’s enterprise – with plans already afoot to plough those profits back into other similarly inclined musicians she’d encountered along the way.
