Husbands, Love Your Wives is the project of Jamie Anne Spiess who resides in Seattle WA, in a sweet little corner top floor vintage studio with windows all around and a clawfoot tub, with her sweet white persian kitten Pear. HLYW is joined by a rotating cast of her favorite friends and musicians Damien Jurado, Erik Neumann, Tomo Nakayama, and many more.
She is inspired by love, loss, grief, babies, fluffy white cats who look like they are about to get into trouble and the way she feels while making wedding cakes and birthday cakes, floating in milk rose baths for hours on end, or honey and peppermint baths, smoking out the studio window while looking at the foggy old cathedral, leading a lonely life as a hermit, paper lanterns, long thought-filled walks, past lives, her juicer when she makes beet/carrot/ginger/apple/garlic/lime/wheatgrass juice, her sparkly twinkle globes, food and healing books, and her best friends Damien, Sarah, Jenny and Rosie, who have carried her thru the last 4 months of her life and stuck around thru some tremendous transitions and troubles, the idea of a future healthy life, with yoga and sunlight on the hardwood floors and some dashing handsome creative husband to sing to and cook for, while the babies Maple and Juniper are asleep in their cribs.
She enjoys braids in her hair, coffee in her hand, her cat pear in her lap, learning to roll her own cigarettes, bath after bath after bath, books about food and healing, edwardian design and decor, victorian hot air balloons, and her cake walk business CAKE WALK: CELEBRATING THE GOLDEN ERA OF CAKE MAKING, featuring many tiny sweet victorian cakes.
