Sneakin' Suspicion (2015 Version) Lyrics

(wilko johnson)I jumped up this morning
Right out of a dream
The front door was wide open
And the rain was blowing in from the streetThe whole house felt empty
And I was alone
I could hear somebody ringing
But I couldn't find my way to the phoneI pondered and puzzled
Why all this should be
I got a sneakin suspicion
Someone's putting something over on meSneakin' suspicion
Creeping up inside of me
Sneakin' suspicion
Just won't let me be- guitar break -I looked for my baby
All over in town
I've never seen so many women
Since the day they closed the factory downMidnight on the river
In the light of the flames
I'm staring at the water

And I'm trying to fit a number to a nameSneakin' suspicion
Creeping up inside of me
Sneakin' suspicion
Just won't let me be

Dr. Feelgood are a British pub rock band, formed in 1971. The classic line-up included Lee Brilleaux (b. 1953, d. 7 April 1994; vocals/harmonica), Wilko Johnson (b. John Wilkinson, 1947; guitar), John B. Sparks (b. 1953; bass) and John 'The Big Figure' Martin (drums). Initially based in Canvey Island, Essex, on the Thames estuary, Dr. Feelgood broke into the London circuit in 1974. Brilleaux's menacing personality complemented Johnson's propulsive, jerky stage manner, while the guitarist's staccato style dominated the group's idiosyncratic brand of angular rhythm and blues.
