So Positive Lyrics

(Verse 1):
The grass is greener on the other guy's lawn
But I'm on mine now, until it looks right
I'm looking at my glass and it looks half empty
I'm still gonna chug that shit tonight
Want to go places, trying to pack
But I'm stuck in my basement, trying to rap
Fell down once, but I'm climbing back
And I can see my dreams in a shiny plaque
Sometimes dreams play hard to get
You can't believe in those promises
When you offer the bread and condiments
'Cause you can't pay your bills with compliments
I know where I'm going, I just want to get there
Got a lot of shoes and I'm running in my best pair
But my mind's on the next pair
And where I'm gonna be next year
(Chorus):

I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now
I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now
I don't mind, I've been going through this my whole life
And I know I, can't fly, but I close my eyes and I try, Whoa
(Verse 2):
I'm not thinking about the words that I can't write
I'm singing all the words in my head
I'm not thinking about the girls that I can't get
I'm thinking about the girl in my bed
I'm not worried that I'm going with the crowd
I'm too busy about going it alone
I'm not thinking about the line-up at the club now
I'm thinking about how I'm getting home
(Chorus):
I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now
I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now
I don't mind, I've been going through this my whole life
And I know I, can't fly, but I close my eyes and I try
So I'm singing, that I, don't mind I've been going through this my whole life
And I know I, can't fly, but I close my eyes and I try, Whoa
(Verse 3):
'Cause life ain't a movie though
And you didn't write the scripts
So there's no way of cheating though
But you're getting out of it
And the love is the truth, you know
The money is counterfeit
Put it all on a million, though
I'm liking the sound of it, yeah
I'm not a superhero
And that's all that I can say
'Cause when the times get tough
The tough don't fly away
It's almost over now
But back in the beginning
We had nothing to lose
It was time we started winning
Escape the underground
Sun's out, stars shine
Now that we're all stars
Just had our stars align
And you can do it too
And hold your own hand
Just keep on doing you
Follow your own plan
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, Whoa...
I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now
I'm so, I'm so positive
And I know, that I'll be alright now

Down With Webster formed in Toronto in the late 90's, beginning as a high school talent show jam band. They recently signed with Universal Motown in April 2009.

In 2007, after multiple demo releases, they released their self titled album and it was available on the Kill The 8 store, as well as merch.

And in 2008, Down With Webster won the Rogers Mobile/Universal Music best unsigned artist in Canada award, and in 2009 both KISS front man Gene Simmons and Timbaland expressed interest in signing the band to their respective labels. According Timbaland, "That group is the most amazing and creative, innovative group that’s going to come out in 2010."

The band's debut EP Time to Win Vol. 1 was released on October 6, 2009, and the single "Rich Girl$" debuted on the Canadian Hot 100 at #47 for the week of October 24, 2009, and peaked at #21 on January 9, 2010. The follow-up single "Your Man" was released to Canadian radio stations in January 2010. Since then it has peaked at #12 on the Canadian Hot 100, outperforming their debut single on the chart. In August 2010, the band released "Whoa is Me" as their last single on the "Time to Win, Vol. 1" EP.

From mid-October 2010 through late November, Down with Webster toured with 3oh!3 on the "Streets of Gold" tour. They gained a large American following during this. After the tour, the boys arrived back to Toronto to finish recording their follow-up album, "Time to Win, Vol. 2" before their own headlining tour, "Wintour 2011".

The band is from the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto and have played the Beaches International Jazz Festival from 2003-2005 and can be seen walking around this neighbourhood in the summer.
