Somebody's Watching You Lyrics

You're now aware of your situation
You wasted time with contemplation
Instead of trying to be so cool my friend
Understand this way you'll never winYou say it's darkest just before the dawn
You get discouraged if it takes too long
Common sense will tell you right from wrong
My advice is that you carry onDon't get me wrong, there's more to life than gold
There are fortunes here that can't be bought or sold
But your diamonds lie within your soul
You can't count your cash 6 feet under, stiff and cold, coldSomebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, yes I know it's true
Somebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, saw ya, saw ya, saw ya, saw yaYou say it's darkest is just before the dawn
You get discouraged if it takes too long
Common sense will tell you right from wrong
My advice is that you carry onDon't get me wrong, there's more to life than gold
There are fortunes here that can't be bought or sold
But your diamonds lie within your soul

You can't count your cash 6 feet under, stiff and cold, cold, coldSomebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, yes I know it's true
Somebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, saw ya, saw ya, saw ya, saw yaSomebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, yes I know it's true
Somebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, saw ya, saw ya, saw ya, saw yaSomebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, yes I know it's true
Somebody's watching, somebody's watching you
Somebody's watching, saw ya, saw ya, saw ya, saw ya

A 1970s funk band, best known for launching the career of their lead singer, Chaka Khan. Major hits during their career include "Tell Me Something Good," "Sweet Thing," and "Ain't Nobody"
Rufus gained a fan in Stevie Wonder thanks to their cover of his "Maybe Your Baby." Wonder gave them a new composition, the slowly grinding "Tell Me Something Good," that he'd written specifically with Khan's vocal style in mind. Pulled as a single from their second album, 1974's Rags to Rufus, "Tell Me Something Good" was a Top Five smash that turned Rufus and Khan into stars....
