Sound System Lyrics

Now wait wait wait
Hold on now a minute
I'd like to say something I just can't forget
Since the day
I was brought into this world
I was made to bless the boys and girls
With the beat from the past
I know the beat is drastic
If you step up
Then you're gonna get you're ass kicked
Blasted
Now we're doing our time
But the music of Jamaica always makes me feel fine
We gonna grind
And wind up your way
Tell the DJ he better pump up the base
Tell the DJ she better pump up the base
And when we hit the town we gonna mosh up the placeHooooorah round my left side

And Hooooorah round my right
This is how we rolling when we rolling through the night
Singing
Sound system in my backyard tonight
Everybody's moving with me up all night
Turn up that volume lads
Wake up the town
Police men come but he can't shut us down
No noNext stop
Now bump up the style
(What)
Bump up the town
If ya coming around then we gonna get down
Talk Possa (????)
Well ya better back it up
Coz I got the full form in the back of my truck
And if you wanna bring it on
Then its gonna get fucked
I said you wanna get down
Then its gonna get fucked
You need a hit (ahh)
I got the THC
Its time to motivate against the powers that be
We got the sound system for the masses to move
We got the sound system for the asses to groove
So grind and mosh up the place
And tell the DJ she better pump up the baseHooooorah round my left side
And Hooooorah round my right
This is how we rolling when we rolling through the night
Singing
Sound system in my backyard tonight
Everybody's moving with me up all night
Turn up that volume lads
Wake up the town
Police men come but he can't shut us down
No noNa na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Everybody everybody everybody
Na na na na na na
Na na na na na na
Everybody everybody everybody
Na na na na na na
Everybody got the whole back line now
Na na na na na na
Push it up style, nice party
Na na na na na na
When we rolling with thatHooooorah round my left side
And Hooooorah round my right
This is how we rolling when we rolling through the night
Singing
Sound system in my backyard tonight
Everybody's moving with me up all night
Turn up that volume lads
Wake up the town
Police men come but he can't shut us down
No noSound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe
Sound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe
Sound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe
Sound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe
Sound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe
Sound system got me feeling alright tonight
Pumping on the dojay and sipping on the red stripe

System22 is the collective name of musicians Cody Williams and Sean Myracle. The pair met in 2000 by chance, and quickly became friends. Although, admirers of each other’s music for over 6 years, it wasn’t until 2005 when the duo decided to combine efforts and re-create the way their music was written. While key influences can be heard in their music, the duo doesn’t want any classifiable cite towards any specific artist and works hard to keep that originality.

The soundtrack behind system22 is an innovative blend of sounds and genres ranging from new school breaks, new-wave, electro, house, funk, hip-hop, rock and any/everything else in between. Collectively, the pair have remixed, produced, and played for and alongside global acts such as: Christopher Lawrence, Sandra Collins, Tiesto, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan – to name a few.

Currently, Cody and Sean are working on their debut album (TBA 2006), a compilation of tracks ranging from expressive songs of personal testimony to funk fueled club-stormers to simple sing-a-longs to rocked out anthems. Regardless of genre, the album promises to push the limitations of today's technology and the limits of human emotion. Trendsetters who know no boundaries, and through determination, system22 are destined to remain in the forefront of today's electronic music explosion for many years to come. Read more on Last.fm.
