Sounds of Silence - Clawed Forehead

Czech band Clawed Forehead was formed in 2006 initially as a revival project of four classically trained musicians (3 cellists and a violinist) who started to play rearranged hits of hard rock icons Metallica and Apocalyptica. Soon they realized that they can work on their own pieces and this discovery led them to recording the band’s first studio album called ”At the End of Spring” released by the band itself.

Nowadays, their sound is determined by an unusual instrumental setup featuring a violin, two violoncellos, a double-bass, vocals and drums with occasional use of viola da gamba.

Their production represents a fusion of classical music, Scandinavian folk music and progressive metal with reminiscences of 60’s psychedelia, minimalism and dance music.

Beside performing their own music, they still include song covers of such artists as Metallica, Apocalyptica, Faith No More, Muse, Rammstein, Pink Floyd and others in order to liven up their shows and to refer to the very beginnings of their playing.

Throughout the time of the band’s existence, Clawed Forehead has performed at many concerts, including acoustic ones, both in the Czech republic and abroad and was favorably accepted by numerous music critics.
