Staring At The Sun Lyrics

(Chorus):
Ohhh
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
The sun, stop staring at the sun
The sun, the sun, stop staring at
Staring at the sun
Ohhhh, you better keep your head down low
Whoa
(Verse 1):
You got me staring at you
I wanna do what you do

I wanna go where you go
I wanna fly where you flew
I wanna know what you know
I wanna know your name
You're the fortune
You're the fame
You're the fire
You're the flame
I'm a fish in a barrel, you got the shotgun
Been so cool, I want the hot sun
To beat down on me, the heat's all on me
I hear a "woo woo", but, uh, can't run
The reason I want that fancy car
The only reason that I'm at the bar
The reason that I hear a song that I hate
And all of a sudden I'm dancing hard
(Chorus):
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
The sun, stop staring at the sun
The sun, the sun, stop staring at
Staring at the sun
Ohhhh, you better keep your head down low
Whoa
(Verse 2):
You're everything that I want
You're everything that I see
I like the way that you shine, I want you shining with me
But every time I get close
You keep on burning my wings
But it doesn't mean a thing
You're my pleasure, you're my pain
And I keep on looking eventhough it burns
And my whole world revolves around her
She goes off like a revolver
She got me wrapped around her trigger finger
Shot to the heart and it's her to blame
Those shots at the bar, you forget the name
If you get in the fire, you get the flames
I keep on sayin' one thing
(Verse 3):
You want the house on the hills
You ain't got time for the bills
You got the girl of your dreams
You think she's finer then real, so no
She's too hot, could you see her in youe future?
She's got a man and you're a damn common future
Your dumb mind ain't see it like you used to
Life is what you choose, but I guess it's what you're used to
Oh oh, you better keep your head down low
(Chorus):
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
She's got you on the run now
Who's the smoke and gun
Boy, look at what you've done
Stop staring at the sun
The sun, stop staring at the sun
The sun, the sun, stop staring at
Staring at the sun
Ohhhh, you better keep your head down low
Whoa

Down With Webster is a six piece hip-hop band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada made up of Patrick Gillett (Pat) on Vocals and Guitar, Martin Seja (Bucky Buck) and Cameron Hunter (Cam) on Vocals, Tyler Armes on Bass and Keyboards, Andrew Martino (Marty) on Drums, and Dave Ferris (Diggy) as DJ. During live shows the band sometimes uses a three piece horn section.

Down With Webster formed in Toronto in the late 90's, beginning as a high school talent show jam band. They recently signed with Universal Motown in April 2009.

In 2007, after multiple demo releases, they released their self titled album and it was available on the Kill The 8 store, as well as merch.

And in 2008, Down With Webster won the Rogers Mobile/Universal Music best unsigned artist in Canada award, and in 2009 both KISS front man Gene Simmons and Timbaland expressed interest in signing the band to their respective labels. According Timbaland, "That group is the most amazing and creative, innovative group that’s going to come out in 2010."

The band's debut EP Time to Win Vol. 1 was released on October 6, 2009, and the single "Rich Girl$" debuted on the Canadian Hot 100 at #47 for the week of October 24, 2009, and peaked at #21 on January 9, 2010. The follow-up single "Your Man" was released to Canadian radio stations in January 2010. Since then it has peaked at #12 on the Canadian Hot 100, outperforming their debut single on the chart. In August 2010, the band released "Whoa is Me" as their last single on the "Time to Win, Vol. 1" EP.

From mid-October 2010 through late November, Down with Webster toured with 3oh!3 on the "Streets of Gold" tour. They gained a large American following during this. After the tour, the boys arrived back to Toronto to finish recording their follow-up album, "Time to Win, Vol. 2" before their own headlining tour, "Wintour 2011".

The band is from the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto and have played the Beaches International Jazz Festival from 2003-2005 and can be seen walking around this neighbourhood in the summer.
