Stark Honesty Lyrics

If you wanna be great when you're not even good
You gotta strive to be misunderstood
You must appear to know what no one else could know
You gotta put on a show, yeahReality, it just don't sell
Please don't broadcast your personal hell
If you really wanna make it, don't be afraid to sake it
Nobody seems to careYou've got to keep 'em to yourself
All those things that drag you down
All the vibes you're putting off
They just keep coming back aroundYou've got to keep 'em to yourself
All those things that drag you down
All the vibes you're putting off
They just keep coming back around
Around, aroundMemo is out
If you're just tuning in, stark honesty's a social sin
Don't give yourself away
No one should ever say what they really wanna sayYou've got to keep 'em to yourself
All those things that drag you down

All the vibes you're putting off
They just keep coming back aroundYou've got to keep 'em to yourself
All those things that drag you down
All the vibes you're putting off
They just keep coming back around
Around, aroundYou've got to keep 'em to yourself
All those things that drag you down
All the vibes you're putting off
They just keep coming back aroundAnd I know you've got your reasons
But everyone's pretending
And it's not like this is ending
Why can't you stop pretending
Adjust, adjust, adjust, adjust

Discover America is the most recent project of musical chameleon Chris Staples. After several other musical endeavors, he's back with a batch of quirky, hip, retro, upbeat tunes on his debut album, "Psychology." It's full of carnival-esque melodies and some distant lo-fi hip hop beats with loads of quirky guitar lines and walking bass. "Psychology" explores the human psyche from an objective point of view. "I wanted to point out how predictable and unoriginal we are," says Staples. Themes include the afterlife, the biology of human love, childhood, faking hipness, commanding females, social difficulty, and the relationship between faith/doubt. Read more on Last.fm.
