Stay a Little Longer Lyrics

Stay a little longer
I know you have to go home to
Someone who loves you
Only half as much as I doOh stay, stay a little longer
I only see you now and then
And every time you walk out the door, baby
I think I won't ever see you againSometimes I say, girl call it a day
And a find, somebody new
Every turn I make, every road I take
Leads me here, right back, to you whoaHold on, your love
Your love, I have to share
We have to hide, we have to hide
Oh, I know but fairListen baby, if I could be with you
Then maybe, I won't care
If you stay, stay, staying
I'm praying, ohhStay, just a little bit longer
Just a little bit longer
Please, please, pleaseStay, just a little bit longer

Just a little bit longer
Hu ma hey, hu ma hahStay, just a little bit longer
Just a little bit longer
Yes, I'm proud and I'll say it out loudStay, just a little bit longer
Just a little bit longer
Take a load off fanny and put it on meStay, just a little bit longer
Just a little bit longer
Honey, honey, honey, honey

Born Flora Yvonne Coleman in Richmond, Virginia, Fair got her start as a latter-day member of the re-formulated Chantels and the James Brown Revue. Whilst performing with Brown she recorded the song "I Found You," which he later re-worked into his own signature hit "I Got You (I Feel Good)." Signed to Motown Records in the early 1970s as a result of her work with Chuck Jackson, she appeared in a minor role as a chanteuse in the film, Lady Sings the Blues.
