Step Up the Morphine Lyrics

Losing expression
facing the order
step up the morphine
stand by my sideBored of rejection
caught in the heavens
planning a new one
taking the skyYou were the silence in my brain
I'll tell her by the weather
We built a kingdom in the rain
I think we're getting better
Sometimes I wonder why we bother at allUnder impressions
growing and cooking
Sideways and under
Cure my glancesFortune and memories
I should be loathing
I couldn't find you
and I shouldn't careYou were the silence in my brain
I'll tell her by the weather

We built a kingdom in the rain
I think we're getting better
sometimes I wonder why we bother at allI ll rise to the sun
sitting in the back of the ride
I ll rise to the sun
sitting in the back of the rideSometimes I wonder why we bother at all
Sometimes I wonder why we bother at all
Grant me a new one
I'm growing slowlysign of reflection
queued by a goddess
loaded and ready
more than I wanted
Step up the morphine

DMA’s (dee-em-ayes) is Johnny Took, Matt Mason and Tommy O’Dell – three friends who came together making nostalgic garage pop in a bedroom in Newtown. Having met whilst playing in other bands, the boys decided to take the helm of a project that was dear to all their hearts. Three writers, three mates – three frontmen if you will – all with a common sense of purpose and musicality. After writing a few songs as DMA’s, they demoed them in Johnny’s bedroom-studio, gaining instant attention - all before putting out an official track or playing a single show.
