Stompin' At the Savoy Lyrics

Savoy, the home of sweet romance
Savoy, it wins you at a glance
Savoy, gives happy feet a chance to dance.Your form, just like a clingin' vine
Your lips, as warm and sweet as wine
Your cheek, so soft and close to mine, divine. How my heart is singin'
While the band is swingin'
Never tired of rompin'
An' Stompin' with you at the SavoyWhat joy, a perfect holiday
Savoy, where we can glide and sway
There let me stomp away with youSavoy,
Savoy,
Savoy.Your form just like a clingin' vine
Your lips, as warm and sweet as wine
Your cheek, so soft and close to mine, divine.Oh, how my heart is singin'
While the band is swingin'
Never tired of rompin'
An' Stompin' with you at the SavoyWhat joy,
Savoy,

Savoy, there let me stomp away
With you.

Benny Goodman, born Benjamin David Goodman, (May 30, 1909 – June 13, 1986) was an American jazz musician, known as King of Swing, Patriarch of the Clarinet, The Professor, and Swing's Senior Statesman. Goodman was regarded by some as a demanding taskmaster, by others an arrogant and eccentric martinet. Many musicians spoke of The Ray, Goodman's trademark glare that he bestowed on a musician who failed to perform to his demanding standards.
