Streetlight Lyrics

Excuse me there, could someone take this broken bottle.
And explain to me, explain to me
All the reasons why we've come undone
And why the streetlight couldn't hold anyone
If there was reason in eternity
Then all the forces in this place would bring you back to me.But if you see me coming up again
I will never spend
A day without you in my head, in myBut if we crawl in to the morning we will never see the light
And if we leave it up to fate then we could fall in love tonight
And if you spend another minute trying to find out what it's worth
You could sweep me off my feet and you could bring me down to earthNow wait a minute here's the punch line
And if you want this to be special then you'd better keep it to yourself,
Yourself, yourself, yourself
Now wait a minute here's the second time
And if you want this to be special then you'd better keep it to yourself,
Yourself, yourself and your healthBut if you see me coming up again
I will never spend
A day without you in my head, in my head. But if we crawl in to the morning we will never see the light

And if we leave it up to fate then we could fall in love tonight
And if you spend another minute trying to find out what it's worth
You could sweep me off my feet and you could bring me down to earthOh oh oh, yeah. Now wait a minute here's the punch line
Now wait a minute here's the punch line
Now wait a minute here's the punch line
Now wait a minute here's the breakdown! But if you see me coming up again
No we're out of time again.

Liz Janes grew up in a Virginia suburb of Washington D.C., listened religiously to Casey Casem's Top 40 on the radio Sunday after church, then spent her formative high school years sneaking into Philadelphia jazz clubs. She came of age musically in Olympia, Washington, as a horn-squanking member of the Northwest punk-improv scene, but sang only for herself, recording her own songs on lo-fi cassette tapes.
