Summerhead Lyrics

My dreams zoom with us
My tears have run away
Our goal, goal collapsed
Energy of lonesome goalMay pushes, leaves and never feels
Shame casts offense
Shame casts her face
Star reason starring of the placeSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe, fallen down this way
I want to be just what I amSteal more treasures, steal more gifts
This will size creative lies
Until we drop
It won't free you to go look for the keyMy consciousness don't look away
What might keep them, but a slave
What might keep them, but a slave
My truth's not even, even half of what'sSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe, fallen down this way

I want to be just what I amSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe, fallen down this way
I want to be just what I amSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe at lastSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe, fallen down this way
I want to be just what I amSafe at last
Seeing my thoughts are in order
Safe, fallen down this way
I want to be just what I am

Cocteau Twins were an innovative and influential Scottish dream pop band. Forming in 1979 in Grangemouth, Scotland, UK (the name taken from an obscure song by fellow Scots Simple Minds), they built a sound based on woozy atmospherics and singer Elizabeth Fraser's unmatchable vocals, most of which featured lyrics of made-up words and words plucked at random from the dictionary. Their first release was "Garlands" in 1982 on 4AD Records, which was received well. Founding member Will Heggie left the group in 1983 and soon joined fellow Grangemouth band Lowlife.
