Sundown Lyrics

I can see her lying back in her satin dress
In a room where you do what you dont confess
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creeping 'round my back stairs
She's been looking like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she don't always say what she really means
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feeling no better
When I'm feeling no pain
Sometimes I think it's a shame
When I get feeling no better
When I'm feeling no pain

I can picture every move that a man can make
Gettin lost in her lovin is your first mistake
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin 'round my backstairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winning
When I'm losing again
I can see her lookin fast in her faded jeans
She's a hard lovin woman got me feeling mean
Sometimes I think its a shame
When I get feeling better
When I'm feeling no pain
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin round my backstairs
Sundown you better take care
If I find you been creepin 'round my backstairs
Sometimes I think it's a sin
When I feel like I'm winning
When I'm losing again

Dallas-born to a family who loved music, Deryl Dodd grew up on gospel, bluegrass, country and rootsy rock and roll. He was heavily influenced by the soulful southern music at the Hasse Revival Center where his grandfather was pastor of the small town Pentecostal church. Deryl's first performances were there, singing harmony with his three siblings. Guitar at age seven, banjo at thirteen, pedal steel at sixteen - the young Dodd's hands nearly always gripped a stringed instrument.
